Human Resources Coordinator

Permanent Full Time

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide the administrative day-to-day paperwork for staffing related matters or assignments and ensures compliance with all policies, collective agreements, provincial regulations and laws relevant to the employee-employer relationship.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures established for the assigned department while supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of Erie Shores HealthCare.
  • Organize and maintain department and employee files.
  • Assist with processing all new hire paperwork into the HRIS, including entering employee benefit enrollments.
  • Responsible for processing all leaves of absences and returns to work for all union groups.
  • Responsible for administering the Attendance Management Program including tracking employee attendance and notifying managers of individual employee absenteeism trends.
  • Provide payroll information by tracking employee hours for wage increases and vacation entitlements.
  • Provide administrative support to the entire Human Resources department including preparing letters of employment and employment verifications.
  • Act as a liaison between the Human Resources department and other employees. Support the effective facilitation and delivery of the Hospital Wide Orientation process.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial employment legislation
  • Drive HR process improvements and look for opportunities to enhance hospital culture and the employee experience.
  • May be required to represent the Hospital at area job fairs and targeted networking functions.
  • Responsible for the completion of relevant surveys as they relate to job vacancies, hospital retention/turnover rates, etc.
  • Serve as the backup for the Human Resources Generalist for Recruitment as it relates to posting positions, attracting candidates, evaluating resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, completing reference checks.
  • Participate on various committees – Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigeneity (EDII) Committee.
  • Administer and complete all internal transfer paperwork for employees and resolve any payroll errors.
  • Complete termination paperwork and monitor the completion of exit interviews.
  • Assist in the posting of positions both internal and external.
  • Act as an ambassador for Erie Shores HealthCare and assists in promoting and sustaining the desired culture
  • Abide, instill and demonstrate all provincial laws including privacy
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree/College diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration required
  • 2-4 years of Human Resources experience or experience working in a similar role required
  • CHRP designation preferred
  • Previous experience working in a health care setting preferred
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment preferred
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, web based software programs, and a strong knowledge of an HRIS system
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Functions effectively as part of a team and can also work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Have strong learning orientation focused on providing a positive customer experience for stakeholders
