Reporting to the Operations Manager, Perioperative & Diagnostic Services, the nuclear medicine technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic procedures in accordance with departmental policies. The duties includes preparing patients for examination, operating nuclear medicine equipment, monitoring patient during procedures and administering radiopharmaceuticals. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive on promoting a safe work environment as well as adhering to all Licensing and Radiation Safety guidelines set out by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. Background Applications are now being accepted for 1 Part-Time Nuclear Medicine Technologist. The successful applicant will be required to work Monday-Friday 0700-1500, 0800-1600, and 1200-2000 as needed. Education • Graduate of a recognized Nuclear Medicine Program • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario as well as active C.A.M.R.T. membership and • Current BCLS certificate, B.P. monitoring Experience • Recent experience in Nuclear Medicine in a healthcare facility preferred Skills/Ability • Proven ability to use all types of scanning/SPECT equipment and ancillary equipment; • Demonstrated ability to assess requests for imagining procedures; • Demonstrated ability to be able to use office equipment including: computers, fax machines and PACS systems; • Demonstrated effective organizational, prioritization and time management skills and • Effective communication and interpersonal skills Other • General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demand of the position Erie Shores HealthCare is an equal opportunity employer.
